Josh Abbott Band is a Texas country band composed of Josh Abbott, Austin Davis, Preston Wait, Edward Villanueva, Caleb Keeter, David Fralin, and Jimmy Hartman. Grasshorse conceptualized this cute interpretation of the lyric “Oughta Get Drunk” to depict the lead characters as personified bottles, cans, cups, glasses, and mugs of various colors, shapes and sizes as if they are souvenirs picked up at the motel gift shop or truck shop of a fun road trip with caricatures of the Josh Abbott Band. Considering the number of characters used to perform, clean 2D designs with simple shapes such as bottles, cans, cups, etc. helped build a portfolio of diverse and unique characters. The music video was animated in Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Character Animator and Adobe After Effects.
